Truls Sjöstedt, Executive Chairman of the Board (1971)

Inspired to find a better way to treat his diabetic wife, Truls founded Brighter in 2007. He is an entrepreneur and technological whizz at heart, living the passion that’s driving Brighter to address some of the world’s biggest healthcare challenges. His education includes economics and technology studies from the Stockholm School of Economics, Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg University and Stanford University.

Truls joined the Brighter board of directors in 2019 and is not to be regarded as an independent member of the board.

Lars Flening, Board Member (1948)

During his 40-year med-tech career, Lars led the European business of blood-glucose monitoring company Medisense before its sale to Abbott in 1996. He brings deep knowledge of the global med-tech industry and its different business models. Today, Lars works independently as a medical-device and business consultant. He has a degree in Economics and Engineering. Lars Flening is to be considered independent in relation to the company and company management.

Lars joined the Brighter board of directors in 2011 and is to be regarded as an independent member of the board.

Jan Stålemark, Board Member (1963)

Jan has more than 30 years of med-tech sales, marketing and customer-relations experience with the likes of J&J, Radi, Siemens, Maquet, Neoventa, Obstecare and AroCell. He is skilled at bringing organizations closer to their end users, and knows how to create customer-centric leadership teams that challenge the company to become creative and competitive. He is also adept in relationship building with opinion leaders, strategic partners, and government authorities. Jan Stålemark is to be considered independent in relation to the company and company management.

Catarina Ihre, Board Member (1964)

Catarina has extensive experience of both Swedish and international financial markets. She was head of Investor Relations at Electrolux from 2014 to 2017, prior to which she held investor-facing roles at steel-company SSAB and Lundin Mining Corporation. Catarina also worked as an equity-research analyst for almost 15 years, including time at Nordea and Deutsche Bank. She holds a degree in Economics from Sweden’s Uppsala University. Emanuel Lipschütz, Board Member (1980)

Emanuel Lipschütz has more than 20 years of experience as a tech & IT entrepreneur, working with some of Sweden’s largest companies and institutions. He is the founder of the Swedish IT company Netsafe International, in which Danish company Conscia acquired a majority stake in 2015. Emanuel has been CEO of Netsafe and CTO of Conscia Netsafe as well as a partner in the firm. In 2019, Conscia Group (including Conscia Netsafe) was sold to a PE firm and Emanuel sold all his shares and did his second exit.

Emanuel also has many years of experience as an angel investor in tech companies working within digitization. In 2010, he was named entrepreneur of the year for Stockholm, and in 2018 he was nominated for the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Sweden award. Being a consultant for over 20 years in network and IT security, he has worked with some of Sweden’s largest companies, authorities and operators.
